Experience

  • CODELCO awarded to our firm the structuration of the corporative contractual conditions for all the operational contracts and the local projects developed by the different Divisions. The main role of WYCIA was to review the existent contractual framework and to propose a new scheme, pursuant the last tendencies in procurement and contracting for infrastructure in general. The outcome of this work has been the elaboration of the new General Conditions (Bases Generales) and four different Specific Conditions (Bases Especiales) for Construction, Engineering-Consultancy, Services and Supplies, with their respective contract models, for the Client. Codelco acquires near to 5.000 MUSD in goods and services per year, mostly affected for this new framework in Santiago, Chile.
  • CELCO is an important Forestry & Paper company in Chile, and one of the biggest in the world. CELCO is currently developing the MAPA Project (Modernización y Ampliación de la Planta Arauco), the most relevant project in the history of the company. WYCIA was hired to support the company in structuring its contractual framework for the project, under a legal-technical 2 perspective. This includes engineering, construction and supply contracts that are being analysed by WYCIA and recommendations are being made previous to the bidding process as well as during their performance in a project worth 2.350 MUSD in Bio Bio, Chile.
  • Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) WYCIA was hired by the Client in December 2017 to provide strategic, technical and contractual advisory during the execution of the projects Parque Eólico Aurora (400 MUSD) and Sarco (354 MUSD). MRP plays the role of contract administration. Essentially, the service has been to keep a healthy relationship with the main contractors in both projects, attending their claims, analysing contractual letters and providing strategic supporting in negotiations. WYCIA had to face 4 claims during 2018, getting to avoid detentions and strikes, and managing the contractual relations within both projects, which will be finished in the first semester of 2019 where the project was 754 MUSD in Llanquihue, de los Lagos, Chile
